Stanley Cabin v.1.0

Well another memorial day has come and gone....relax and recharge I did not.  The Murray's and Stanley's gathered at the family cabin to consume another weekend with our ongoing load of WIP.  The granite is installed on the island, transistions from the hardwood to tile were time consuming, and baseboards and door trim were all completed.  Thanks Dad, Rick & Kevin for all your efforts.

I broke ground on the Stanley cabin this weekend....not really.  Our Bobcat 763 loader, long retired from the fence mine was the only thing that broke on Saturday morning.  In layman's terms; the mother sucker on the end of the fuel line that extracts the diesel fuel from the reservoir and sends it on its way to the fuel injectors.....fell off.  Uncle Ken hadn't arrived yet, but 45 minutes of investigation and experimentation with fuel line vents revealed that my time was better invested in one of the other options to beat my brain out on this particular weekend.  Instead, I focused on clearing about 8 large madrone trees that posed a fire/fall risk near my cabin site, then unloaded 3000 lbs of pipe and concrete all by hand, each of these tasks would have been simplified had the mother sucker loader maintained functionality.  But alas the work was completed and progress was achieved, time lost: 1 day.

The next challenge will be to deal with the mother sucker in the fuel tank next weekend, but first....Uncle Ric reminded me that I'm going to hell for cutting mother earths trees and as I type this a message from the underworld must be forming on my forearms.  It feels like braille, but instead of wasting any more time trying to interprept satan's message I think I shall get started on a heavy dose of poison oak medication......

Pictures and bullshit to come....

  1. There's nothing quite like a few days of rest, away from 12 hour work days.
