Waiting Game

And now we wait.....another spell of false labor behind us.  Erin is getting impatient and I'm struggling with the concept that I just don't know when the main event will occur.  Will I be at work on Monday or holding our new babe?!  It's mentally worrisome, I'm anxious to have the babe out and Erin to be happy and healthy.  I'm also not used to having my schedule so open, we can't really make any plans.  Something needs to happen or I fear Erin will go stir crazy, she must feel like these walls are closing in on her.  I bet the 'Babe' feels that way too.....

A little while back I turned over my reviewed financial statements to the fella that provided a majority of the financing for my purchase of 25% of my uncle's company.  Being partnered with a former owner of a CPA firm means that I dreaded going over my financials with Randy.  You see when incorporating your company as a type 'S' corporation the companies tax bill essentially gets passed through to the shareholders.  That tax bill can be minimized by managing profits at the end of each year.  Reinvestment of profits into equipment and labor prior to year end reduces net income and thus the tax bill as well.  Bob has a lot of experience with this type of income management and in the last quarter of the year he squares away our situation prior to an outside CPA's review.  The result is a net income that gives me a feeling that I need to swallow my pride when I have my discussion with Randy.  It's frustrating, because the company is doing well, sales are up, morale is up, and outlook is great for this year.  There's a lot more to an 'S' corp than the financials.....

I've been working on a pretty trick job....it's the million dollar gate, not literally, but it seems that way.  I hope to have pictures soon....
